Ameritex is always investing in new technologies to serve our customers better. We recently added a 20-foot Rohner Batch Non-Reclaim Powder Coating Booth, Empire blast booth and GAT gas fired oven to take our powder coating capabilities to the next level.
We often recommend powder coating as an effective alternative to wet paint because of its durability and fast turnaround time—and our new powder coating line will allow us to speed up the process even further.
Better Powder Coating for Sheet Metal Fabrication
Our advanced powder coating system connects our blasting, washing, coating, and curing operations by rail so that parts flow seamlessly from one process to the next. Previously, we had to manually push racks and carts containing custom fabrications in and out of the equipment for each operation. Now, we simply hang the parts, and they undergo the necessary operations without manually pushing carts from station to station.
We anticipate that this new system will increase throughput by roughly 30% per shift and eliminate the maintenance issues that arise from using racks and carts.
Additionally, we’re setting up a separate automated blasting machine, coating booth, and oven system—also connected by rail—to serve as a dedicated line for small rush parts. (Stay tuned for more on our upcoming Fast Lane Parts service, which we’ll announce later this year!)
Committed to Continuous Improvement
As we continue to step up our metal fabrication services and optimize our processes to meet growing demand, the improvements in our powder coating department will ensure that our capacity scales equally across all finishing operations.
Our investment in a new powder coating system is just one example of the many ways we’re working diligently behind the scenes to continually better ourselves. From adding best-in-class equipment to implementing lean manufacturing principles and practices, we always have an eye toward the future—and we have to say, it’s looking as bright as these powder-coated parts! 😉
