Master Production Scheduler

Ameritex’s operations team is looking for experienced and driven Planner/Production Schedulers to work alongside operations and production to support company goals. The Planner/Production Scheduler will be responsible for scheduling production for Ameritex machine and fabrication in a detailed oriented, demanding, high mix, and quick turn operational environment. The position will also be responsible for structuring and performing analysis to support the road map for production capacity changes on their assigned production lines in accordance to company and customer requirements.

Specific Duties Include:

Support manufacturing by creating production schedules that reconcile production capacity with demand for fabricated components, following the factory’s master schedule.

Perform analysis that supports defining the roadmap for production capacity increases/change.

Work with manufacturing & support teams to establish & improve processes (e.g. production batch sizes, material transfer processes & controls) for just-in-time or line-side Kanban delivery.

Respond to unanticipated changes—e.g. production shortfall vs. schedule or material shortages: provide information, impact assessment, and options to downstream shops, revise production shifts and or mix as needed.

Generate and publish production performance metrics and forecasts showing risk to supply of fabricated components vs. demand.

Communicating plans, plan revisions, and production vs. plan to all Manufacturing, support, and business stakeholders.

Represent production in the sales and operational planning process for Ameritex production.

Assist in implementing systematic solutions to control inventory flow, minimize shortages.

Collaborate with Supply chain and Engineering to coordinate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to plan for material and product end of life and minimize obsolescence.

Complete other duties assigned by management as business needs shift or change.

Detailed Responsibilities:

Responsible for establishing, reviewing, and maintaining the master production schedule.

Work closely with operations leaders, buyers, project planners, and others to coordinate manufacturing plans that achieve the company objectives relative to customer service, efficient resource/capacity utilization and inventory investment.

Support customer service with exception request analysis and expediting resolution.

Translate the monthly S&OP plan by product family to a detailed weekly master. production schedule (MPS) with a 12-18 month planning horizon into the ERP for weekly MRP generation challenge processes where favorable alternatives may be available.

Timely management of exception messages generated by the ERP system.

Maintain data integrity of ERP planning parameters. Parameters such as lead times, lot sizes, safety stocks, delivery times, and order file data for all master scheduled Items.

Analyze scenarios that balance demand and supply while optimizing inventory and minimizing the impact of demand volatility.

Create and publish daily/weekly/monthly factory schedule adherence, capacity, and inventory reports.

Serve as a factory subject matter expert (SME) for ERP production planning and scheduling modules.

Identification and resolution of Constraints – Capacity, Resource & Material.

Facilitates long term capacity assessment (RCCP) and development of countermeasure/action plans.

Conduct a demonstrated lead-time analysis and measures gap to published lead times. Drives corrective action plan and reviews and updates published lead-times.

Provide training on master production scheduling procedures and processes.

Monitor and drive resolution of MRP processing errors.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent value of industry experience.

3-6 years related experience in materials management, production planning, material scheduling, or purchasing in a manufacturing company is required.

Experience in planning and scheduling multiple jobs/projects, and management of planning and scheduling resources in a high pace environment.

Strong analytical capabilities – including data analysis to optimize plans relative to different constraint factors (equipment capacity, staffing plans, material availability) is required.

Proficiency in analytical and reporting tools (MS Excel, ERP/MRP applications) is strongly desired.

Experience with business-wide ERP and MRP systems (ECI software systems a plus) required.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Supply Chain techniques a plus.

Certified Green Belt recommended.

Certified in Lean Manufacturing a plus.

Certified in VSM (Value Stream Mapping) a plus.

Experience managing change through a factory (i.e. New Product Introductions)

Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.

Strong communication skills (written & verbal)

Salary:

$80,000 – $90,000
